Hey Yall,

I know that the symbol for Autism is puzzle pieces. What I'd like to know is if those pieces are specific colours in a specific order. I'm working on a scrapbook for the 7 year old Autistic boy I work one-on-one with and would like to do the intro page with the puzzle piece border.

Thanks!

I don't think there's a specific order the puzzle pieces would go in. Far as the colors go, I would say red, yellow, blue, and light blue. Those are the colors that are used in the autism awareness ribbon. This is a common phrase used with the ribbon:

"The puzzle pattern of this ribbon reflects the mystery and complexity of autism.

The different colours and shapes represent the deversity of those with this disorder.

The brightness of the ribbon signals hope - hope through research and increasing awareness in people like you."

Maybe you can use the colors of each piece representing something about the boy like a certain accomplishment he has made, representing something/someone he is fond of, a certain point in his life, etc. What you are doing is wonderful, something he'll cherish for his entire life. Good Luck. =)

I'm not aware of any... It's just the idea that there are many many features to autism that we don't understand, and some treatments work for some kids and some do not. It's a puzzle.

You can do any color, the typical ribbon has the colors mentioned above, but when we made t-shirts for my daughter's team in the autism walk, we had two smily face puzzle pieces holding hands. One was lime green and the other purple, her favorite colors. It was cute and she loved it.

i know the puzzle piece you refer to, but I have no idea where to find the color's meaning? Maybe it has to do with autism and all races... autism speaks doesn't use the colored puzzle piece

When you say symbol for autism is puzzle pieces do you mean the symbol for the National Autistic Society as there is no other "symbol" for autism. If so you would have to ask the NAS.
